The Believing Centurion

Today’s Verse: Matthew 27:54

“Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.”

When Jesus looks down from the cross, or from heaven looking down on each of us on a daily basis, does he hear us say, “Truly this is the Son of God”? Perhaps we are too quick to say, “well I truly believe Jesus is the Son of God.” But on a daily basis, and on an hourly basis, is Jesus, our savior for all times?

“And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” (Matthew 22:37 ).

How Do You See People?

Ponder: Controversy – “I don’t want to get involved!”
Scripture: “He is of age; ask him. He will speak for himself” (John 9:21, NKJV).
Thus far we have seen that Jesus’ disciples treated the man born blind as an
object of religious discussion. Once he had been healed, the neighbors saw him
as something spectacular to wonder about. The Pharisees viewed him as a
question of lawfulness, and an object to be used to lash out at Jesus. Now let’s
see the reaction of his parents.

“Be Faithful Until Death” Rev. 2:10

Read: 2 Chronicles. 15- 16
“For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may
strongly support those whose heart is completely His” (2 Chron 16:9).
Asa, king of Judah, was a complex person. Early in his reign he served the
Lord faithfully, destroyed the pagan alters, restored the alter of sacrifice,
and removed his mother as queen for her idolatry. He also moved the people
to seek the Lord and made a oath to turn to God. For thirty five years he
was a faithful king.
