“Be Faithful Until Death” Rev. 2:10

Read: 2 Chronicles. 15- 16
“For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may
strongly support those whose heart is completely His” (2 Chron 16:9).
Asa, king of Judah, was a complex person. Early in his reign he served the
Lord faithfully, destroyed the pagan alters, restored the alter of sacrifice,
and removed his mother as queen for her idolatry. He also moved the people
to seek the Lord and made a oath to turn to God. For thirty five years he
was a faithful king.

Today’ Scripture: Matthew – 11:28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”
Last week I heard what could have been some devastating news, Batman was dead. A super hero meets his fate. Super heroes don’t die. Or so I always thought. That would be tantamount to watching Santa Clause slip and fall off your roof and die in your front yard.

“Abraham called the name of that place The Lord Will Provide, as it is said to this day, “In the mount of the Lord it will be provided” (Genesis 22:14).
Many of the Divine Names in Genesis are simply a combination of Yahweh (Jehovah) and some word that depicts a characteristic of God. The setting of the name being used demonstrates some need by man God has met. Such is the case with Yahweh-Yireh. Yahweh is the personal name of God, usually translated Lord. Yireh is a transliteration of a Hebrew word used many times in scripture. In Genesis 22:14, where this name is used, the word Yireh is sometimes translated “to see,” and other times “to provide.” This name tells us God foresees the needs of man and provides everything needed, doing so because of His grace and love. Two sacrifice provisions of Yahweh-Yireh show His character.
