Double Standards

Ponder: “It’s good for thee, but not for me!”
Scripture: “Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works, for they say, and do not do” (Matthew 23:3).

They compromised the truth of God, and they practiced immorality, which reflected back on the true God. God was blasphemed by their perversion of truth and morals. Why would the world want to bow to the true God when the Jewish god was no better than their own? That was the message they sent to the world. They discredited God in the eyes of the heathen.
