“Now be ye not stiff-necked, as your fathers were; but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he has sanctified forever, and serve the LORD your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you” (II Chronicles 30:8).
A shopping center near us is filled with roundabouts. Four streets come into one roundabout, and that circle has four Yield signs. Every driver knows that those signs mean to give way to oncoming traffic, for they have the right-of- way. It is the law. We give in, or we bring trouble upon ourselves.


“I Have Sinned”

Ponder: The difficulty of admitting personal sin.
Scripture “And David said to Nathan, ‘I have sinned against the Lord.’ And Nathan said to David, ‘The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die'” (2 Samuel 12:13, NKJV).
Do you remember the situation comedy “Happy Days”? One of the characters, Arthur Fonzarelli (“The Fonz”), wanted everyone to think he was faultless. He didn’t take criticism well, and on those occasions when he had to admit error, he found it virtually impossible to say, “I was wrong.” The first two words were easy, but when he got to “wrong,” his abundant ego kept him from pronouncing anything past the “r” sound.

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).
