Treasure: Lost And Found

“The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field. . . (Matt. 13:44).

I was seven when I began to understand treasures and their value. The city widened our street, cutting six feet from our front yard. A steam shovel was parked along the curb for heavy digging and a steam roller for later paving. A worker noted my interest and said he found some coins along our drive and that maybe I’d find treasure too.

It’s Not Over Until It’s Over

Scripture: “Let the one who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall” (1 Corinthians 10:12, NKJV).

The weekend of April 11, the University of Oregon hosted the Pepsi Team Invitational. Ordinarily, that news wouldn’t interest us much. Track & field events seldom attract as much attention as football or basketball. However, one particular event that Saturday sparked world-wide interest because, unfortunately, it resulted in one athlete becoming an international laughingstock.

Do The Pigeon Walk

“No one has ever seen God, but as long as we love another, God will live in us” (1 Jn. 4:12).
On Easter Sunday afternoon, I’m recalling the preacher’s words as he spoke to us regarding the resurrection of Jesus Christ and what that event really meant. Since it was proclaimed, “Easter,” there were visitors we don’t normally see and they were made welcome and enlightened in the One Way by brother Russell.
