He’s Out There!

On a visit to Oklahoma, it was simple to recall upon returning home the many large and decorative casinos with their crowded parking lots side by side with adobe homes in two desert states. How can native Americans accept the new gambling attractions and the sprawling truck stops right outside their doors?


Joy, Such A Precious Commodity

Today’s Scripture: John 16:24 – “Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.”
Paul Harvey was, without a doubt, the most listened to radio personality during my growing up years. He was a great story teller. Maybe it was because I lived at the end of a dirt road that my favorite story was about the dirt roads. He said, “Things were better then.”


Lightening The Way

Upon the death of my father in the Great Depression days, my living grandfather became a mentor until his small family’s move to northern Missouri from Kansas City. He purchased ten acres with a house and good well for two thousand dollars and subsided on a small garden and some government aid.
