Why Are We Lost?

“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:5).
Jesus said, “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for except ye believe that I am he, ye shall die in your sins” (John 8:24).
I recently read this interesting religious item. Eskimo: “If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?” Priest: “No, not if you did not know.” Eskimo: “Then why did you tell me?”
Interesting? Yes. Accurate? NO.

To Two Too

“So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is” (Eph 5:17 NASU).
Recently, a sequel to one of the “dumbest” movies in history has come out. It’s titled “Dumb and Dumber to.” No, not “two” but, intentionally, “to.” Get it? I won’t waste my money or my time watching such stupidity, but I’ve referenced it to make a point.

How Do We Get Discouraged?

“Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart.” (II Cor. 4:1).
Spreading the Gospel is sometimes “a tough row to hoe.” Doing good can sometimes be tough. Remaining faithful is rarely easy. It is easy to get discouraged when we face the obstacles we sometimes do. Paul was one who was not unfamiliar with difficulties in the Lord’s work. In II Corinthians 4:1, the inspired apostle gives two reasons why we should not get discouraged.
