How Do We Get Discouraged?

“Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart.” (II Cor. 4:1).
Spreading the Gospel is sometimes “a tough row to hoe.” Doing good can sometimes be tough. Remaining faithful is rarely easy. It is easy to get discouraged when we face the obstacles we sometimes do. Paul was one who was not unfamiliar with difficulties in the Lord’s work. In II Corinthians 4:1, the inspired apostle gives two reasons why we should not get discouraged.

Jesus’ Gentleness And The Fruit Of The Spirit

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,…; against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23).
Jesus revealed God to us while He walked among mankind (John 1:14 and Hebrews 1:3a). So as we look at the fruit of the Spirit, we need to see it through Jesus’ manifestation of the fruit.
The eighth fruit of the Spirit is gentleness.

“Where Are The Nine?”

“Then Jesus answered and said, ‘Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine — where are they?'” :(Luke 1717 NASU).
Surprised! Disappointed! These two words come to mind as I read these words. Ten men were afflicted with leprosy. They begged Jesus to heal them. He blesses every one of them with a cure of one of man’s most dreaded diseases. They were told to go and show themselves to the priests for verification that they were cured, but when they saw their flesh healed they forgot to even thank Jesus. Well, except for one Samaritan.
