A Child Communes

“Let the children alone and do not hinder them from coming to Me” (Matt. 19:14).
Naturally, he wanted to stand on the seat so he could see over all those adult heads in front of him and he did so quietly. However, the preacher, seeing the youngster standing on the seat said, “Maam, would you seat your boy so he doesn’t disrupt us with a fall.” Why didn’t he call the boy by name, you know, like “Gordon,” for instance? When the lesson on the kingdom ended, it was time for communion.

“Not Puffed Up”

“For every one that exalts himself shall be humbled; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted” (Luke 14:11).
Love is not puffed up. What can this mean? The Amplified Version says, “(Love) does not display itself haughtily.” The Living New Testament says “(Love) is not proud.” The New Testament in Modern English says “(Love) does not cherish inflated ideas of its own importance.”

Why Are We Lost?

“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:5).
Jesus said, “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for except ye believe that I am he, ye shall die in your sins” (John 8:24).
I recently read this interesting religious item. Eskimo: “If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?” Priest: “No, not if you did not know.” Eskimo: “Then why did you tell me?”
Interesting? Yes. Accurate? NO.
