Cain Or Abel?

“But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it” (Genesis 4:7). 

We do not know why Cain’s sacrifice was not pleasing to God.  Perhaps Cain did not give the best of his crops.  Maybe he gave grudgingly.  Whatever the case, Cain did not please God in his giving.  God had warned Cain that sin was right at his door waiting to get him.  Evidently, Cain didn’t care, for he killed his brother in jealousy.  Perhaps he had been planning his revenge on Abel for some time.


Are Your Growing In Reverence And Love For God?

“The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person” (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

Solomon asked himself two questions: 1) How am I using my life? 2) What is the purpose of my life? After trying every human endeavor, he concluded that fearing or revering God and serving Him was the true purpose for everyone.


“Remember also your Creator in the Days of Your Youth

“Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near when you will say, ‘I have no delight in them'” (Ecclesiastes 12:1).

Ever wonder why Solomon said to “remember your Creator” – as opposed to remember your “God,” your “Lord,” or your “savior”? Certainly we should think of God in those other terms. But we also must not lose sight of remembering Him as our Creator. Notice what this does:
