What’s In Your Heart?

Ponder: Is it more important what’s in your wallet, or your heart?

Scripture: “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23, NKJV).

A certain credit card company ends its advertisements with the question, “What’s in your wallet?” To hear them tell it, various features of their card make it superior to those issued by competitors. If you have a card from another company in your wallet, you should replace it with theirs.


“They Know Not”


“Father, forgive them, they know not what they do” (Lk. 23:43).

Jesus’ prayer from the cross while enduring excruciating pain and torment, both physical and mental, was in the concern for the souls of others.How can we forget it? As for me, it became a part of a poem written for my high school newspaper in 1942 before being call to the Navy for W.W.II.




“For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died” (2 Cor 5:14 NIV).

Recently, in an eating contest, ironically, a 125 young woman, mother of four, broke the record by eating two 72 ounce steaks in less than ten minutes! What kind of society have we created that rewards gluttony? Actually, eating the meat was not because of a desire for food, but the desire for honor and praise for eating more than anyone else in the least amount of time!
