The Fool’s Theme Song

Text Ecclesiastes 10:9
9  Whoever quarries stones may be injured by them; whoever splits logs may be endangered by them.

Solomon has had much to say about the fool. The book of Ecclesiastes has dozens of references
to him. But in 10:19 Solomon seems to sum up the life philosophy of the fool. This philosophy is
described in three statements:

Beware The Band Wagon

Ponder: Seeing discipleship through to completion.

Scripture: “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’
doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayers” (Acts 2:42 NKJV).

In bygone days, a band would play upon a decorated wagon at the front of a parade.
As spectators applauded, other people jumped onboard, hoping to share in the glory.
When the music and applause ended, the extras jumped right back off. Thus, joining
any popular trend came to be called “climbing onto the band wagon.”

All These Things

“But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

Winters can be harsh in Colorado.  Snow comes in abundance, temperatures fall far below zero, and the cold arctic winds bring the temperatures even lower.  We had such a day last week.  The snow sparkled in the sun, but the scene was deceiving.  The thermometer read ten below zero.  Not a bird nor a squirrel stirred in the trees, and no geese were on the frozen lake or eating grass in the park.
