Truth, Sincerity And Wisdom

Ponder: The audacity of the gospel
Scripture: “Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you” (Acts 17:23b NKJV).
In Athens, idolatry and human philosophy dominated the scene. As Paul viewed the city packed with statues, busts, temples, and altars, his “spirit was provoked within him” (Acts 17:16). He couldn’t stand it! He began preaching Christ, and ended up being tried before the Court of Aereopagus (Mars Hill).

Bible Verse for Today: “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:35).
Even though our favorite restaurant is a long drive from our house, we try to go there at least once a month. It is owned and operated by a Greek couple. They have had to move their restaurant three times in the past five years, but each time they move, they become more successful. Their secret for success is not just their fine Greek, American, and Mexican food and great prices. It is their love and attitude toward others.

Completing A Good Work

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6 NASU).
The Christian life is a journey. It is filled with joys, sorrows, struggles and victories, but through it all, we know that at the end of the day, the Lord knows just exactly what He was trying to accomplish. Paul hadn’t planned to go to Philippi in the first place, but God changed his plans, and the church at Philippi was established (Acts 16). The church at Philippi had become a great source of support and encouragement for the Apostle Paul. The grace that motivated Paul in his ministry was now the grace that was motivating this church in carrying out the will of the Lord.
