The People of God

Isaiah 65:1–66:24

The LORD says, “I was ready to respond, but no one asked for help. I was ready to
be found, but no one was looking for me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am!’ to a nation
that did not call on my name. All day long I opened my arms to a rebellious people.
But they follow their own evil paths and their own crooked schemes. All day long
they insult me to my face by worshiping idols in their sacred gardens.

A Godly Example

Nehemiah 13:1-31
“Wasn’t this exactly what led King Solomon of Israel into sin?”
I demanded. “There was no king from any nation who could compare
to him, and God loved him and made him king over all Israel. But
even he was led into sin by his foreign wives. How could you even
think of committing this sinful deed and acting unfaithfully toward
God by marrying foreign women?”

Same Old, Same Old

Jeremiah 25:1-14

This message for all the people of Judah came to Jeremiah from the
LORD during the fourth year of Jehoiakim’s reign over Judah. This
was the year when King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon began his reign.
Jeremiah the prophet said to all the people in Judah and Jerusalem,
“For the past twenty-three years—from the thirteenth year of the
reign of Josiah son of Amon, king of Judah, until now—the LORD has
been giving me his messages. I have faithfully passed them on to you,
but you have not listened.”
