God’s Delight

“Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in unchanging love” (Micah 7:18).

Merriam-Webster defines delight as “great pleasure or satisfaction; joy.” Read the story of the prodigal in Luke 15 and see the joy of the father when his son came back.  “Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:7). Our Father will abundantly pardon! In doing so, our Father will be filled with joy beyond our imagining.

Samson’s Riddle

“Out Of The Eater Something To Eat. Out Of The Strong Something Sweet” (Judges 14:14).
The story of Samson is one of the most interesting stories in the book of Judges if not the whole Bible. Here is a man at birth devoted to the Lord through a Nazirite vow. God blessed him with supernatural strength to be used to deliver his people from oppression at the hands of the Philistines.

Sorrow to Come

Zephaniah 3:1-20

What sorrow awaits rebellious, polluted Jerusalem, the city of violence and crime! No one can tell it anything; it refuses all correction. It does not trust in the LORD or draw near to its God.
Its leaders are like roaring lions hunting for their victims. Its judges are like ravenous wolves at evening time, who by dawn have left no trace of their prey. Its prophets are arrogant liars seeking their own gain. Its priests defile the Temple by disobeying God’s instructions. But the LORD is still there in the city, and he does no wrong. Day by day he hands down justice, and he does not fail. But the wicked know no shame. (Zephaniah 3:1-5)
