Victory In Jesus

Ponder: 1Cor. 15.54-57
Today’s Verse: “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
(1Cor. 15.57).
When I feel defeated by sin I need to be reminded that victory is found in Christ.   Christ won
the battle over sin and death long ago; therefore, as Christ’s possession, we are conquerors.
Through our baptism in the name of Jesus Christ “we were washed, we were sanctified; we were justified in His name and by the Spirit of our God” (1Cor. 6.11). Paul wrote about our victory in
Christ in several of his letters.
Paul wrote to Timothy, “The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live
with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are faithless, he remains faith for he cannot deny himself.” We can rely on the hope of our salvation through obedience and endurance to the end, but let us not deny Christ by being unfaithful
(Cf., Matt. 10.33).
We must focus on obeying God and serving Him. King Solomon came to the following
conclusion:   “The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His
commandments, because  this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil” (Eccl. 12.13-14).
Song: Victory In Jesus
Prayer: Dear Father, I am weak and fail to have the qualities and attitudes of Jesus’ character.
Forgive me Lord for I come short of your glory and keep me from evil and temptation. In Jesus’ name.
